I have led task forces on major cases all over the State of Kansas and have never worked with a finer group of dedicated officers. Below you can read a brief background on all of the officers.

Meet the Allen County DeputiesMinimize

 

 

Allen County Law Enforcement Officers serve the people of Allen County in a broad range of duties. They provide law enforcement for the entire county, taking investigation reports and doing follow up leads on cases they are assigned to. They work traffic accidents and enforce all traffic laws in the State of Kansas. Deputies patrol all of Allen County which is an area of 505 square miles. They provide 24 hour on duty service to the citizens. Deputies serve as officers of the Allen County District Court and they are tasked with serving process service ranging from Protection from Abuse/Stalking to Civil litigation papers. They also provide public service in the form of community training, and education/awareness.

Master Deputy Roy Smith completed basic KLETC training in 1989. Smith has served as Undersheriff of both Allen County and Neosho County, KS.

Smith is the Court Room Security Officer for the Allen County District Court. When not assigned to Court Security Smith serves as a full-time deputy and takes routine calls. Smith brings a great deal of experience and knowledge to our department.

Master Deputy Tim Beckham started his law enforcement career in Allen County. Beckham completed basic training at KLETC in 2002.

Beckham serves the citizens as a expert in Concealed Carry training and provides a number of classes. Beckham serves as one of Allen County's Range Masters. One of Beckham's tasks as a Range Master is ensuring all deputies are qualified and maintain training with their firearm. Beckham is also trained as a forensic investigator of child sex crimes.

Master Deputy Daren Kellerman started his law enforcement career in Allen County. Kellerman graduated basic training at KLETC in 2001.  He has served as the County D.A.R.E. officer and as La Harpe Chief of Police.

Kellerman has received extensive training in the apprehension and prosecution of impaired drivers and is also trained as a forensic investigator of child sex crimes.

Deputy Derek McVey graduated from basic training at KLETC in 2005. McVey started his career with the Iola Police Department before joining the Allen County Law Enforcement Center as a deputy. Prior to McVey being employeed with Iola, KS he was a correctional officer for Allen County.

McVey brings a great rapport with not only rural citizens but with the younger citizens of our community.

Deputy Jeremy Troester started his patrol career with Allen County. He graduated from basic training at KLETC in 2009. Troester has worked in Labette County as a correctional officer and Neosho County as a communication officer.

Troester has proven himself to be a valuable asset to the department by keeping commuters safe with vigorous traffic enforcement.
